View through metrics in online campaigns

24 ,November, 2008 From Ohad Marom

On Monday, Nov 17th COMSCORE announced the viability of view-through metrics as a key performance indicator for Web advertising.

According to their announcement:

“The comScore norms data provide compelling empirical support for the belief that there is a quantifiable view-thru impact of online ad exposures on brand value and sales.”

View Through metrics – what does it mean and how does it work?

View-throughs, or post-impressions as they are also known, generally refer to online conversions that result from a user seeing an ad online but not clicking on it at that moment.

View-throughs work by leaving a cookie on a visitor’s computer when they are exposed to a banner. Then, when that visitor goes to the site that was advertised on the banner, the system looks up the cookie and can identify the site on which the banner was seen. This way the conversion (if there is one) could be accredited to the relevant banner.

Wordcamp 2008 – Israel SEO & Wordpress – Slides

17 ,November, 2008 From

Yesterday I had the privilege of being invited and to speak at Wordcamp Israel 2008. I was asked to give a presentation about optimizing your Wordpress blog for SEO. To tell you the truth, what I thought would be a pretty easy subject matter, turned out to be very hard to fit into 20 minutes. What started off as a big explanation of SEO add-ons for Wordpress and linking and keyword research, turned into something much more simple. Read More »

Daniel and Zipi under the Chuppa

Compucall Web Marketing is proud to announce that another one of their own, Daniel Katz (Our very own Business Development Manager), tied the knot last night to the beautiful Zipi Weinreich. The wedding included an incredible mix of Israelis and South Americans that came together to celebrate the joyous event. The ceremony was heartwarming, as both bride and groom were each accompanied by their parents to a beautifully designed Jewish “Chuppah.” The walk down the aisle was exciting as the up tempo Latin music had the crowd clapping and the Bride dancing her way down the aisle. The ceremony ended with a bang – confetti and water dispersing in the background. Read More »

Affilicon – First Ever Affiliates Conference in Israel

2 ,November, 2008 From

Finally a relevant professional affiliates conference in Israel. For years, me and my colleagues have been flying abroad to attend professional conferences in various cities in the States, London, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Beijing, Shanghai and Sydney. We are all used to spending $5000 and more to attend each one of these conferences where 50% of the attendees are speaking Hebrew. Affilicon, the Affiliates Conference is planning to attract 100s of vendors and affiliates and the agenda leads me to believe that the planned conference will be as good as the ones I have attended abroad.  There is no reason why the land where Empire Online, 888 and Playtech were born and where some of the largest affiliates exist will not be where the best professional conferences will not be held. I hear that around 100 attendees are due to arrive from abroad.

I strongly recommend you to attend the seminar. Look to www.affilicon.com.

See ya there

Behavioral targeting and PPC

22 ,October, 2008 From

As you know two members of our team have just passed the Google Adwords Qualified Professionals test with flying grades (and we knew they would :) ).

Following their successful passing of the accreditation and the results we see every day from the PPC campaigns they manage, I have asked them some key questions about the way they use web analytics to improve the campaigns’ ROI.

During our conversation we started to compare the various ways people advertise their products today. Whether it be by “traditional” methods like TV, radio and print or by online campaigns like Adwords, advertisers are constantly looking for ways to increase their conversion rates and ROI. This is when the discussion took a turn towards behavioral targeting and the possibility to retarget visitors. So I decided to write about retargeting and PPC instead. Read More »

Let’s all say congratulations to Ohad and Ilona!

Walking down the isle

Walking down the isle

Our very own SEO specialist and content writer got married last night to his beautiful fiance Ilona.  The entire (save for one frolicking abroad) staff was on hand to witness the beautiful ceremony followed by a great meal and party!

The Compucall staff, I must say, did a great job of keeping the party going till basically being told it was time to let the newly married couple get on with their night. They outlasted the parents and the rest of the guests. It was really a fantastic night for everyone. Even the minister of defence for Israel (I’m not kidding), Ehud Barak, showed up to say congratulations and pose with the couple for a few pictures.

So again, let’s congratulate the newly married couple and wish them all the best. We also want to thank them for putting on a fantastic party.

Pictures will follow shortly, here on the Compucall Facebook group.
