Last Tuesday (Dec 9, 2008) I took part in the Flypaper Webinar which threw some light on many issues that I wanted to know, before I drill deep into this application. I’ll forward it to you from my point of view.

I was looking for some pictures that would relate to the keyword “Air” recently and something funny came up. One of my suggestion tools threw the word Aria (the Italian word for Air) and so I threw that into my query. Here’s where Google had me laughing.
The organic results came up, very standard vanilla results, no surprises, I quickly jumped to Google Images and that’s when bam, I’m hit with 13 image results of a Glam model (I’m not complaining) and another 7 results that were Japanese animation related for some series called Aria. I checked my Google Image settings (they were set to moderate), I switched them to strict and she got cut down to 7 results with the rest being the Japanese animation. So I went back to the Web Search results and she’s not there. Not on the top 10, not in the top 60.

Google AdWords blog announced a change in policy regarding the advertisement of hard alcohol and liqueurs. A few months ago Google allowed advertising beer in Google AdWords, and now the ads have expanded to hard alcohol and liqueurs. The one stipulation that Google has is that the ads be used for branding and marketing exposure only, and they should not be used for the purpose of selling directly.

Google AdWords is now enabling advertisers to decide on which devices their ads will appear. Advertisers can now opt out of showing ads on desktop and laptop computers and target only mobile users with full browsers.
Full browsers can show standard HTML pages and support an online purchase process from start to finish (like the Iphone). There are not many mobile phones that have this feature. Most mobile phones today have WAP browsers that require a special mobile AdWords campaign. Read More »
