Google finally blesses us with a tweak to the Quality Score

25 ,August, 2008 From

Do You remember the Google “Quality Score Slap” of 2005? Who ever was there, will never forget the “tiny” change that Google made to the Adwords system. Well guess what? They did it again!

Finally selected a new email marketing platform for CWM!

24 ,August, 2008 From

It’s been tedious researching the almost infinite options available for email marketing platforms, however I’ve yet selected the one that fits CWM requirements.

I’ll show you an example to better compare the main differences between the two main models: the first will charge you for quantity of emails sent, and other that will charge you a fee for the amount of registered users.

Example: I have to send 4 newsletters a month to my 10,000 users listing.

Model 1: I have to pay for 40,000 sent emails.
Model 2: I’ll pay for the 10,000 users, on despite of the amount of newsletters I send.

With the Model 2, I can theoretically send a new broadcast every day and I’ll still pay a flat fee for my 10,000 users only… do your math and calculate how much will it cost with the first option… is it clear which is the method I selected?

Of course it’s not that simple; you must consider other details among value for money like: data safety, deliverability, technology, reporting and a customer support. I recommend you taking a look at GetResponse.

The Top 3 Questions you should ask yourself before a post goes up

Alright so after a little bit of coercion and reminding people that contracts were up for renegotiation soon (aren’t they always?), I’ve got people writing and landing posts on my desk for review. After reading them, I keep asking myself the same questions:

- Is it any good?

- Will anyone benefit from this post?

- Are they just trying to get me off their backs by giving me this?

- Why did I get myself into this… Read More »

Top Web 2.0 Websites – Using Basic Web 2.0 Strategies in your Marketing Efforts

Web 2.0 is defined as a term which describes the trend to enhance information sharing and users’ collaboration all over the web.
You probably already know that everyone today uses web 2.0 sites in order to increase traffic or to try and strengthen their authority. A link on Digg’s first page is every advertiser’s wet dream (and then some). The thing is, that web 2.0 links, as well as web 2.0 sites, are very dynamic and are constantly changing. Therefore, your results will peak like a really high cliff with a 90 degree drop on the other side- very high but for a short period of time. Read More »

Setting up a Company Blog or is that The joys of Childbirth?

21 ,August, 2008 From

Well here’s the thing. I was under the impression that people working in an SEO agency would hear about us finally setting up an English language blog and jump at the opportunity. You see, we spend a lot of time preaching and recommending to our clients the benefits of blogging and we don’t preach it in order to charge our clients more, but because we truly believe their voices have a place. And given that place, their voices can become a great channel to communicate with peers in the industry, to become a reference, to give their opinions and even eventually even generate leads. Our 1st Blog Post

18 ,August, 2008 From

Finally! Compucall has its own company blog in English! We’ve finally gotten our priorities straight and decided it was time to start contributing our collective knowledge to the industry and general public!

That being said, where should we take this? Should we dedicate it to SEO? To Analytics? To Pay Per Click? To venting about our frustrations with our clients and Google policies? That’s a good question that took me a whole of 20 seconds to answer. Compucall as a company (and as I wrote exactly 76 words ago) does a bunch of things, and that being said, I think the blog should reflect everything we do.

So what’s going to happen is that the majority of the team at Compucall will be contributing on a weekly basis to the blog to offer you a little insight into how we 1) feel about things 2) see things related to what we do 3) give you a little guidance into our practices that hopefully you find helpful.
So with all that out of the way, Welcome to the Compucall Blog. Subscribe, comment and visit often!

The Compucall Team
